He won 3 singles titles on the ITF pro circuit tour in 2017. He played his first ATP main draw match in April 2018 at the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters after receiving a Wildcard into the main draw. He lost 6-3 2-6 3-6 against former number 3 ATP Milos Raonic. Also in 2018 he won the singles silver medal at the Mediterranean Games. Catarina won one title on the professional tour in 2019 in Monastir, Tunisia. His fourth title on the professional circuit.
Catarina represents Monaco in the Davis Cup. He defeated Latvian tennis player Rūdolfs Mednis in his first rubber.
