Long Way Up
Long Way Up is an upcoming television series documenting a motorcycle journey undertaken in 2019 by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, from Patagonia in Argentina through South America and North America to California in the United States. It is a follow-up to 2007's Long Way Down, when the pair rode south from John o' Groats in Scotland through eighteen countries in Europe and Africa to Cape Town in South Africa.
On 27 May 2020, it was announced that the series will premiere on Apple TV+.Overview
The journey started in September and finished on 14 December 2019. They were accompanied by the same key team members from Long Way Round, and Long Way Down, including directors of photography Jimmy Simak and Claudio Von Planta, and producers Russ Malkin and David Alexanian. They rode Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycles manufactured by Harley-Davidson that had been converted into adventure bikes. In February 2020, Ewan McGregor confirmed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that his support crew contained two Rivian R1T PickUp trucks.
