This is a list of encyclopedias accessible on the Internet or formerly accessible on the Internet. The largest online encyclopedias are general reference works. There are also many specialized ones. Some online encyclopedia are an online copy of a paper encyclopedia, or an online version. Some, such as Wikipedia, are a separate enterprise.
