Little Women had its world premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on December 7, 2019, and was theatrically released in the United States on December 25, 2019, by Sony Pictures Releasing. The film received critical acclaim, and was chosen by the American Film Institute as one of the top 10 films of the year. At the 92nd Academy Awards it received six nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It also received nominations for five British Academy Film Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.
