Lepisma
Lepisma is a genus of primitive insects belonging to the family Lepismatidae. The most familiar member of the genus is the silverfish, a commensal of humans worldwide. Lepisma are known to have metabolisms that allow them to go long periods of time without food. Their metabolic rates are very similar to those of the Firebrat. Lepisma have a slightly higher metabolic rate at lower temperatures and Firebrats have a slightly higher metabolic rate at higher temperatures.
