Lemon Creek, British Columbia
Lemon Creek is an unincorporated community in the Slocan Valley region of southeastern British Columbia, Canada. Its name is derived from that of the creek of the same name, which was named for Robert Lemon, a prominent merchant in pre-Great War Nelson. It is a few miles south of Slocan City which is at the south end of Slocan Lake.Lemon Creek became the site of an internment centre of Japanese Canadians during World War II following their removal from the British Columbia Coast. Other internment centres in the Slocan region were nearby, at New Denver, Slocan City, Rosebery, Kaslo and Sandon.
