Kendall Morris


Kendall Diane Morris, is a news anchor and an American beauty pageant titleholder from Ennis, Texas who was named Miss Texas 2011.

Biography

She won the title of Miss Texas on July 1, 2011, when she received her crown from outgoing titleholder Ashley Melnick. Morris was Overall Interview Winner at Miss Texas 2011. Morris was Preliminary Swimsuit winner at the Miss America 2012 pageant as well as the Louanne Gamba Instrumental Award recipient. Morris' platform is “Leukemia: Living for a Cure” and she said she hoped to promote funding for research to find a cure for Leukemia during her reign as Miss Texas. Morris majored in broadcast journalism at Texas Christian University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with departmental honors in journalism. Morris' win was the second consecutive time a Texas Christian University student won the Miss Texas title, as Ashley Melnick, Miss Texas 2010, also attended Texas Christian University. Morris is a baton twirler with the TCU Marching Band, and she performed at the 2011 Rose Bowl and the 2010 Fiesta Bowl. At the age of 15, Morris won the title of Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen in 2006, and went on to compete in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant in 2007, where she won multiple preliminary awards. Morris joined the staff at WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2014 as a reporter and was named an anchor in January 2016. She currently works for NBC Charlotte.
