The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. is an admission test conducted every year for admission into Master of Science and other post-graduate science programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, National Institute of Science Education and Research, National Institutes of Technology etc. Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. is being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions to M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science as a career option for bright students. The IIT JAM 2019 Exam will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur. This is the first time when IIT Kharagpur will be playing the role of organizing institute. For the year 2018, IIT Bombay was the institute which conducted the JAM Exam. The exam is held annually in February. Candidates who couldn't participate in IIT JAM Counselling procedure due to less eligible score for IITs and IISc, they can take part in Centralized Counselling for M.Sc. Programs. By this procedure, they get admission in NITs and CFITs for M.Sc. courses.
IIT JAM Eligibility
Candidates from any nation can apply for JAM Exam and there is no age limit to appear in the exam.
Candidates should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in graduation if belongs to General or OBC-NCL category or if they are from SC/ST/PWD category then they should have minimum 50% marks in graduation without rounding-off
Each IIT and IIsc has their own guidelines for different courses on which basis they give the admissions in the institutes.
