John Jackson (law professor)


John Howard Jackson was a professor at the University of California at Berkeley Law School, the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., USA. He organized the International Economic Law Group of the American Society of International Law, and was regarded as one of the chief architects of the World Trade Organization.
Jackson was born in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1954, he graduated with an A.B. from Princeton University, and earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1959.
He was the director of the Institute of International Economic Law, Georgetown University Law Center and editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Economic Law.
