John Bosco Jasokie
John Bosco Jasokie or J.B. Jasokie as he was well known was an Indian politician from the state of Nagaland. He was the son of Late Dr. Khosa Zinyü of Khonoma Village. He became the Chief Minister of Nagaland on two occasions as part of the Naga National Democratic Party. He was earlier a guide for Allied forces during the 2nd World War. He was expelled from the Naga National Council after he differed with Angami Zapu Phizo and expressed his view that independence was unrealistic for a landlocked hill region with few natural resources.
He was also a composer and an accomplished singer of his time. His famous composition was the famed Angami song "Ara Kezievi", which roughly translates as "My Beautiful Homeland".
He died on the 19 October 2005 at his residence in Kohima.
