Jim Cotter (journalist)
Jim Cotter is an Irish-born American writer, journalist, and broadcaster. He is best known as the host of the public television series Articulate, which features creative artists from around the world.
Cotter was born in County Kerry, Ireland. After working in local radio in Ireland in 1987, he moved to London, where he worked for the BBC World Service. In 2001, Cotter moved to the United States to pursue a career in journalism and television.Career
In the 1980s, Cotter worked for the BBC. He immigrated to the United States in 2001. At WRTI, he was the host of Creatively Speaking, a weekly arts and culture radio show from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, Cotter moved on from radio production to television production when he became the host and producer of the television series Articulate. He is also currently the CEO of Panavista, Inc.
Cotter also has produced concert broadcasts for the Philadelphia Orchestra, Symphony in C, and the Crossing Choir. He has also taught broadcast documentary courses at Temple University's Klein College of Media and Communication in Philadelphia.
Cotter currently runs Panavista, Inc., a Philadelphia-based independent film company which specializes in producing documentaries.
