Jarrod Poort
Jarrod Poort is an Australian competitive swimmer.
Poort represented Australia in the 1500 metre freestyle at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the 10-kilometre marathon swimming event. In the race he built a lead of 1 minute and 20 seconds, but was caught 1 km before the finish, and finished 21st. Poort trained out of Wollongong, NSW, representing West Illawarra Aquatic Swim Club and also Bronte Surf Club.
In 2017, Poort was banned for 12 months by FINA for missing three drug tests in a one-year period.Competition record
