Jamie O'Callaghan

Jamie O'Callaghan is a former Ireland international rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. He played at club level for the London Broncos, the London Skolars and the Hemel Stags.

Background

Jamie O'Callaghan was born in Hammersmith, London, England, he has Irish ancestors, and eligible to play for Ireland due to the grandparent rule.

Playing career

An Ireland international representative back, he played his entire top-grade career to date at London Broncos until the end of 2014.
The Super League licensing system required nine club trained players in the top twenty five of each squad and under this system O'Callaghan became a Super League regular playing over 100 games in all competitions for the London Broncos.
O'Callaghan was released by the London Broncos at the end of the 2013 season, joining the London Skolars two leagues lower, but Joey Grima brought him back to the club for 2014 in a surprise move.
After London Broncos were relegated and licensing was abolished and it was no longer mandatory to have club trained players, O'Callaghan was not required and finished his career at Hemel Stags in Kingstone Press League 1.
He was named in the Ireland squad for the 2010 European Cup
