Jam Nation
Jam Nation was the product of one of the Real World recording weeks of the 1990s. These recording weeks were spontaneous gatherings of some of the world's finest musicians. The project was the brainchild of Peter Gabriel who gave mix masters John Gosling and Mark Rutherford just seven days to organize it. The only resulting album, Way Down Below Buffalo Hell, reflects the contradictory variety of influences of those involved, with a mix of roots, pop and ambient trance-dance tracks.
Jam Nation includes contributions from various artists including Ayub Ogada, Alex Gifford, Justin Adams, Jah Wobble, Caroline Lavelle, Jane Siberry, Jocelyn Pook, Daniel Lanois, Billy Cobham, David Rhodes, Karl Wallinger, Cleo Torrez and the late Lucky Dube among many others.Releases
