Jacob Casson Geiger
Dr. Jacob Casson Geiger was city director of public health in San Francisco and Oakland, California, and the president of the San Francisco Medical Society in 1935.
Geiger was a native of Alexandria, Rapides Parish, in the U.S. state of Louisiana, and was a graduate of Tulane University. For his research in public-health medicine, he received numerous awards from the U.S. and foreign governments as well as several honorary academic degrees. Among others he was made Officer of the Legion of Honor, Commander of the Order of Jade and Commander of the Order of Quissam Aloute Cherifien.
