Institute of International Relations Isidro Fabela


The Institute of International Relations Isidro Fabela of the Universidad del Mar, has the purpose of generating scientific-social research that contributes to the knowledge and understanding of its object of study: The World. It creates and promotes the scientific investigation of unexplored themes in the distintic areas of knowledge of this subject, tying it with new developments in though and preparing specialized reports as well as books on related topics such as political science, international law, economy, geography, the environment, etc.
The Institute of International Relations Isidro Fabela has hosted three international conferences of the Mexican International Studies Association in 2003, 2013 and 2017 having being held at Universidad del Mar in Huatulco, Mexico. In 2021 it will be hosting the international conference of ISA and AMEI.

Objectives

To produce scientific-social research, both to disseminate and to advance knowledge, in the area of International Studies with quality professors-researchers who keep up to date with their lines of research.
To publish the results of the professor-researchers investigations in national and international books as well as in refereed and indexed journals.
To help students in the classroom by sharing research findings that are congruent with the International Relations curriculum.
To promote the local, state or regional development.
To encourage and be congruent with the 4 pillar functions of UMAR: teaching, research, cultural diffusion and promoting development.

Infraestructure

The Institute of International Relations Isidro Fabela is located at Universidad del Mar, It's a two-storey building of 1874 M2 consisting of a Meeting Room, a Library, a Reading Room and a Documentation Center.
The Library is specialized in International Studies in different languages and it also houses antiquarian books of great historical value.
