Ian Grant (physicist)
Ian P. Grant is a British physicist and a fellow of the Royal Society.
He was a founding member of University of Oxford's Department of Theoretical Chemistry in 1972.
He was professor of mathematical physics, University of Oxford, 1992–1998, now emeritus professor. With a solid background in numerical analysis, Grant and co-workers pioneered many useful and versatile algorithms and methods ranging from "GRASP" for relativistic atomic structure calculations based on 4-component methods to code generation tools for calculating molecular integrals.
Education: St Albans School, Hertfordshire; Wadham College, Oxford.
