Hugh Primrose Lindsay
Hugh Primrose Lindsay was a British naval captain, Chairman of the East India Company and Member of Parliament.
He was the 5th surviving son of James Lindsay, 5th Earl of Balcarres.
He joined the Royal Navy in 1779 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1782, but by 1787 had left the navy to join the British East India Company's marine service, where he was promoted captain in 1793.
