Hrvoje Hitrec
Hrvoje Hitrec is a Croatian writer and politician. He is notable for his works for children and youth, most famous of his works being Smogovci, but he also wrote novels, film and TV scripts, dramas. He received several notable Croatian literary awards: "Ksaver Šandor Gjalski," "Ivana Brlić Mažuranić" and "Grigor Vitez."
He was an associate of Franjo Tuđman, the first President of Croatia. He was the first director of Croatian Radiotelevision, minister of information, and member of Croatian Parliament. He headed an independent list in the 2007 parliamentary elections. He identified himself as eurosceptic and right wing politician. His list did not win any mandates.Works
