Hingangaon is a small town and Gram panchayat in PhaltanTehsil, DistrictSatara of Maharashtra, India. It is strategically situated in mountainous parts of the region and is approximately 6–8 km from the Pune-Pandharpur Highway and Phaltan-Satara Roads mounted on Deccan Plateau. It is one of the renowned villages in Tehsil.
Government
The Gram Panchayat governing system is adapted here. The administrator is Sarpanch, democratically elected by the town. Grampanchayat is established here since 2 February 1953.
History
Hingangaon is one of the capitals of SuryavanshiBhoite, Royal 96k Maratha Clan who are the Brotherhood of Royal Bhoite's Capital Centres Tadawale Sammat Wagholi and Wagholi. These Bhoite's are mostly related to Maratha Cheiften Family of Bhoite Royal 96k clan. Bhoite families in Hingangaon are the prominent Marathas dominated the political scene of the Phaltan Tehsil in today's Phenomenon and moreover in British Rule period, they were the active leaders of Sansthani Praja Parishada, Phaltan —Princely State under British Dominion Ruler, Maratha Naik Nimbalkar Clan. This place and surrounding area was vessal estate of Satara Kingdom,Shrimant Abasaheb Bhoite Sarkar was ruler of this place. With annexation of Satara Kingdom, this estate lost its glorious position and ruler himself refused to co-operate British being feudatary of British like Naik Nimbalkar of Phaltan. This village is well known for the holy festival i.e. "Jatra" which continues to be on 'Amavasya' of 'Chaitra' month of Hindus. This Jatra continues for 2 days starts with Bullock cart race on first day. Chhabina starts at midnight till morning with dance, lezim The main attraction of this Jatra is BHILLACHE Soang. This Jatra is well known in Satara District for peaceful celebration.
Political importance
Hingangaon is dominant political region in Phaltan Tehsil as it referred as Panchayat Samiti Gana and Zilla Parishad Gana. It is among the few villages in the tehsil which has greater political importance.
Education
In Hingangaon, there are no big educational facilities. The facilities available are up to SSC. Nowadays some persons also availed the computer training facilities. The villagers must go to Phaltan, Lonand nearer well-developed education centres. Moreover, many of the inhabitants show their presence in educational centres In Maharashtra Like Mumbai, Pune, Satara, Baramati and other convenient education centres.
Major occupation of the dwellers is agriculture. Many of the villagers also serving in various occupational fields as Maratha families used to dominate political scene, military, governments high rank statuses, various industries. Other people also show their presence in the above fields of occupation. Nowadays people are trying with grapes and other new varieties of sugar cane. Since 2011 it is connected with balkawadi canal so it became irrigated for 12 months. So agriculture is growing vastly in this particular village.
Transport
Transport is mainly carried by the Government Buses of M.S.R.T.C. Via two main centres viz.Phaltan and Lonand. Some private means like taxis, trucks are also available for journey. Locals use bicycles, two-wheelers, four-wheelers for transport.
Air : Nearest airport is Phaltan but it is undeveloped, therefore Pune is nearest Airport about 91 km.
Rail : Nearest railway station is Lonand about 15 km.
Road : Roads are very bad, the politicians in the village and tahsil used the land and money only for their sake.
