Hettlingen is a municipality in the district of Winterthur in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.

History

Hettlingen is first mentioned in 886 as Hetelinga.

Geography

Hettlingen has an area of. Of this area, 61.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 21.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 16.1% is settled and the remainder is non-productive. housing and buildings made up 10.7% of the total area, while transportation infrastructure made up the rest. Of the total unproductive area, water made up 0.2% of the area. 13.8% of the total municipal area was undergoing some type of construction.
The municipality is located in the southern Zürcher Weinland.
