Head of a Young Woman

Head of a Young Woman is a painting by Pablo Picasso. It belonged to Jaime Botín, a billionaire Spanish banker. On September 12, 2017, the judge Enrique Presa sent Botín to jail, fined him €133 million and confiscated the painting. Apparently, Botín had tried to smuggle it into Corsica, France to later sell it in Geneva, Switzerland, thereby violating the non-exportability status that the Spanish Government had granted the painting. Ownership of the painting was transferred to the Kingdom of Spain by court order. The painting is now located at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
