Grand Prospect Hall
Grand Prospect Hall is a large Victorian banquet hall in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York. Built by local entrepreneur John Kolle in 1892, the Hall is four-stories and faced in buff-gray brick in the French Renaissance style. It features pressed metal decoration originally painted in imitation of limestone.
Michael and Alice Halkias bought the hall in 1981. Starting in 1986, the pair gained a measure of fame from starring in a series of cheaply shot commercials airing 20 times a day on local TV. In 2019, Saturday Night Live aired a parody of these ads during their 44th season.
The Hall is available as a filming location and has been used in The Cotton Club, Prizzi’s Honor, and The Royal Tenenbaums.
The Grand Prospect Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
