Gorumna Island is mostly underlain by intrusive Devonian-aged Galway Granite that formed from crustal melting as a result of the Caledonian Orogeny in the late Silurian. Its southern tip also includes Ordovician-aged bedrock of sedimentary marine rocks and basalt.Demographics
