George Anderson (footballer, born 1953)
George Anderson is a Scottish former professional footballer.
Anderson played as a defender for Morton between 1969 - 1981 and 1985 - 1987. He is 8th of the club's all-time list of appearances with 280 and was selected by then Scotland manager Tommy Docherty for a South American tour with the senior Scottish squad prior to the 1974 World Cup. On 1 December 2017, Anderson was inducted in to the Greenock Morton Hall of Fame along with Douglas Rae , Billy Steel, Jimmy Gourlay, Hal Stewart, Jimmy Holmes and the 1978/79 squad.
