Geo. F. Trumper also known as G.F. Trumper, is a British luxury goods brand and gentleman's barbers and perfumers in London. It was established as a Gentlemen’s Barber Shop by George Francis William Trumper in 1875. Mr Trumper was not only an excellent barber, but also a master perfumer and soon gained a reputation as such among the gentlemen of London’s elite. Operating from a shop at 9 Curzon Street in Mayfair. The interior retains the original mahogany cubicles and glass display cases installed in the 20th century.

Locations

Geo. F. Trumper now operates two retail locations, one in the original shop in 9 Curzon Street and a second one called the St. James's Shop, in Duke of York Street, London. Their head office is in Fairbridge Road, north London.

Products

Trumper's sells shaving equipment, many aftershaves and colognes as well as cufflinks, hair brushes, umbrellas, canes and leather goods.
Their most famous colognes have names such as Astor, Wellington, Curzon, Wild Fern, Sylvester, Royal, Skye, Eucris, Eau de Quinine, Spanish Leather, Marlborough, Ajaccio Violets, Extract of Limes, Eau de Portugal and Bay Rum. Skye was created to celebrate the coronation of one of the kings. Sandalwood was created to celebrate the Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and GFT celebrates 125 years of Trumper’s success. Each bottle is topped with the famous Trumper Crown.

Popular culture

In the James Bond novel On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Ian Fleming mentions a fragrance by Geo. F. Trumper:
Bond visits Marc-Ange Draco in Marseille and finds Eucris in his bathroom.
Evelyn Waugh refers to Trumper's in his novel Brideshead Revisited when he writes that Rex Mottram sends for a man from the establishment to shave Charles Ryder, Sebastian Flyte and Boy Mulcaster after being held in jail on charges of driving while intoxicated. In Agatha Christie's Poirot season 3 episode 1 Hercule Poirot is seen leaving G.F. Trumper accompanied by Monsieur Trumper.
