General Administration of Press and Publication
General Administration of Press and Publication was the administrative agency responsible for regulating and distributing news, print and Internet publications in China. This includes granting publication licenses for periodicals and books. GAPP is under the direct control of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China since 2018. It also liaises with other state authorities such as the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the State Council Information Office and Xinhua. The General Administration of Press and Publication was merged with the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television to form the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television .
