Geli Ali Beg Waterfall


Geli Ali Beg Waterfall is located in Kurdistan Region, which lies in the mountainous northern part of the country in the Kurdistan Region, some 130 km north of Arbil.
The waterfall is named after the Yazidi leader Ali Beg who was killed there in 1832 by the Kurdish prince Mohammed Pasha Rawanduz.
It is a popular destination for many visitors and tourists across the country.
It featured on the 5-dinar note issued 1978-1990.
