Gary Price (rugby league, born 1961)


Gary Price, also known by the nickname of "Slogger", is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. He played at representative level for Yorkshire, and Great Britain British Amateur Rugby League Association , and at club level for Castleford Juniors ARLFC, York, Leeds, and Featherstone Rovers, as a, i.e. number 11 or 12.

Gary Price was born in Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire, England.

Playing career

Gary Price played for Castleford Juniors ARLFC during the 1977–78 season, and the 1978–79 season, where he won the BARLA Yorkshire Cup Final, and the BARLA National Cup Final, he made his début for Featherstone Rovers on Sunday 17 September 1989.

County Cup Final appearances

Gary Price played left-, i.e. number 11, in Featherstone Rovers' 14-20 defeat by Bradford Northern in the 1989 Yorkshire County Cup Final during the 1989–90 season at Headingley Rugby Stadium, Leeds on Sunday 5 November 1989, in fromt of a crowd of 12,607.
