. Fredericksburg and the surrounding

settled
by
German
immigrants
in the
nineteenth century

settlers
were the first to cultivate
grapevines
in the
Texas Hill
Country
. The
appellation
is over from the
Gulf of Mexico
, and
feels
little
effect
from the
hot
,
humid
,
coastal
winds
.
