Fondazione Cariparo
Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo is a philanthropic organization formed in 1991 by separating Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo into a limited company and a banking foundation.
The foundation united with other foundations in Veneto to form Casse Venete Banca Group. In 2000 it merged with Casse Emiliano Romagnole to form Cardine Banca, which in 2002 incorporated into Sanpaolo IMI. As at 31 December 2006, the foundation was the second largest shareholder of Sanpaolo IMI for 7.02% shares. In 2007 Sanpaolo IMI merged with Banca Intesa to form Intesa Sanpaolo. As at 31 December 2014 the foundation was the fourth largest shareholder of Intesa Sanpaolo for 4.162% shares.
The foundation had funded the restoration of Po River Delta. The foundation had a shareholders equity of €1,831,591,626 as at 31 December 2014.
