Fanetizole shows immunoregulating activity.

Synthesis

s serve as a convenient starting material for 2-aminothiazoles.
Reaction of β-phenethylamine with ammonium isothiocyanate gives the thiourea Treatment of that product with phenacyl bromide thus affords the thiazole product.
