Eucharia Okwunna


Eucharia Azodo Okwunna is a Nigerian politician. She was a member of the People's Democratic Party and the House of Representatives.

Life

She was born in 1961. She was a member and speaker of the Anambra State assembly. She was the first woman to hold that elected position.
She was elected as the People's Democratic Party candidate of the House of Representatives. She was elected in 2011. In 2015 she was one of fifteen women members and of the ten from the People's Democratic Party who were elected to the 8th National Assembly. She represented Aguata. The other PDP women were Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje, Sodaguno Festus Omoni, Nkiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha, Rita Orji, Evelyn Omavovoan Oboro, Beni Butmaklar Langtang, Omosede Igbinedion Gabriella, Stella Obiageli Ngwu and Fatima Binta Bello.
She was in the lower house for eight years before deciding to run for the senate in 2018 to represent Anambra South.

Private life

She is married to Betrand Azodo and they have four adult children and she is a grandmother.
