Esmeraldas woodstar


The Esmeraldas woodstar is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.
It is found only in Ecuador.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.
It is threatened by habitat loss. Researchers recently found Esmeraldas woodstars at eleven new localities and collected the first female specimens of the species.
