Climate

El Salto is one of Mexico's few large towns to have a humid continental climate thanks to its drastic diurnal temperature ranges, prominent seasonal changes, and well-received precipitation; enough for it to avoid the semi-arid classification. Owing to its relatively exposed location and astounding altitude, its climate is borderline alpine as well, given that its characteristics are very much bounded to its plateau-based geography. Because of that, the town experiences a solid four-season cycle, having the summers being mild and rainy, and its winters being dry and chilly with cold nights.
