Donald Pippin (opera director)


Donald Pippin is an American pianist, and founder of Pocket Opera.
Pippin was educated at The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee and later attended Harvard University, but began his musical career as an accompanist at George Balanchine's School of American Ballet in New York City. In 1952 he moved to San Francisco. He was also involved with new music in California, recording with Harry Partch.
