Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend
"Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend" is a song recorded by Lobo and released as a single in 1972. He wrote the song, which appears on his album Of A Simple Man. The single peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the third of four of his songs to hit #1 on the Easy Listening chart, where it had a two-week stay at that top spot in February 1973.
Jamaican reggae singer Wayne Wade also recorded a reggae-tinged cover of this song, retitled "I love you too much", in 1991.
