Dick Lane (pool player)
Dick Lane is a professional pocket billiards player from Dallas, Texas. In 1977, he reached the finals of the US Open 14.1 Pocket Billiards Championship but lost to Tom Jennings despite leading 196-42 and being only four balls away from the championship.
Lane was the subject of an extensive profile Texas Monthly, which nicknamed him "the Shootist" and went on to say: "Over the past three decades, Lane has established himself as the state's greatest pool player ever, a two-time Southwest Player of the Year who has won more than one hundred tournaments and set benchmarks that his rivals can only dream of."
