Diane Grendell


Diane V. Grendell is a current member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the people of the 76th district since 2019. A Republican, Grendell's district includes Geauga County as well as portions of Portage County. Previously, Grendell served as a judge on the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals. She was elected to this position in 2000 in 2006 and 2012. She previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives in a similar seat from 1993 to 2000. She is the wife of former state legislator and Judge Tim Grendell.
In 2019, state Representative Sarah LaTourette resigned from her seat to take a position in the non-profit sector. Ohio House Republicans appointed Grendell to succeed her. She was sworn in on May 29, 2019 and will serve the remainder of LaTourette's term. In 2020, she won her primary election against Republican Frank Hall by a decisive victory - an 11 point win in Geuaga, but a large 52 point victory in Portage.
