Dan Finch


Daniel John Finch is a metal vocalist and guitarist. He is currently in The Dead Soul Communion and The Devils Music. Finch has also released a number of sample and loops packages. He grew up in Lowestoft, Suffolk. He has one daughter Alice Grace Finch who was born on 31 December 2011. Finch was the founding member of Devilment which he formed in 2011. But songs were written as far back as 2001, when the band was called Brutal Grooves Inc.
Finch's first big break was back in 1997 when he joined gothic metal act 13 Candles who were then signed to Cacophonous Records. Finch recorded one mini album with the band titled Killing For Culture, which was produced by Mags at Academy Studios. The band reformed in 2011 with Finch on guitar, but he left to start Devilment.
Finch later went on to record albums with Pain Control and Twisted Autumn Darkness.
After the release of Devilment's 2014 album The Great and Secret Show, Finch left his own band after a fall out with Dani Filth and the management company. Finch is currently battling with the record label Nuclear Blast and band over royalties and contract issues.
In 2015 Finch announced he was working on two new projects, one called the Dead Soul Communion features ex-Devilment members Simon Dawson Kev Jackson and Dan Jackson. The debut album is set to be released in mid 2017. A demo was released at the end of 2015 which got the band a lot of attention.
Finch has worked with Scott Rockingfield, Dani Filth, Scott Atkins, Paul Ryan, Monte Connor, Mags, Hammy, Jamie Hunt, Mark Fairfax, Devin Townsend, Moonspell, FM, Vaga, A, and Ed Graham.
He has shared stages with Electric Six, John Otaway, Tyla, Lacuna Coil, Motionless In White, One Machine, and Incubus Scubas.
In 2016, Finch released the Devils Music album which was held a masterpiece by the critics. The music was originally written for the second Devilment album. Each song featured a guest vocalist. In July 2017, Finch released his debut album by Dead Soul Communion titled MMXVII. It was well received by the metal community. It also gained media attention calling them "A band to watch".
In January 2018, Finch announced work had begun on the second Dead Soul Communion album. The band was due to play a number of shows in 2018. But due to health issues Finch has announced his retirement from live work.

Personal life

Finch has one Daughter Alice Grace who was born 31 December 2011. Finch married Linda Beecher on Dartmoor National park in June 2011. Finch spends his down time seeing his daughter and walking. He is also into xBox, movies and cooking.

Soundtrack and loop work

Finch has released a number of Loop packages that have been used in many films and TV programmes. Finch has always wanted to write soundtracks, and is currently working on making this happen in the future, so he can step away from the public eye.
His previous bands include Devilment, The Bloodshake Chorus, Pain Control, The Thinking Principle, Such Beautiful Sin, Episeed, Tribal Kick, Petrol Blue, Sexx, Awake, and Twisted Autumn Darkness.
