Communist Party (Switzerland)


The Communist Party is a political party evolved from the section of Canton of Ticino of the Swiss Party of Labour in 2007, which decided to change its name to Communist Party. Its headquarters is in Locarno, Ticino.

History

In 2014, the collaboration between the Comunist Party in Ticino and the Swiss Party stopped. The party called itself in a first time Partito Comunista and is only active in the canton of Ticino and in the canton of Grisons. The actual General Secretary is Massimiliano Arif Ay, elected in 2009. After 2011 it has been developing gaining firstly one seat on the Canton of Ticino's parliament, and doubling the seats in the following elections

Youth Wing

The Swiss Communist Youth is the youth wing of the Communist Party. Its General Secretary is Samuel Iembo.
