The Cohen Media Group's CEO Charles S. Cohen began the collection in 2011, upon acquiring the Rohauer Library collection from the American film collector and distributor Raymond Rohauer.
Cohen has added movies to the Collection, including classic British and French films from filmmakers such as Ken Loach, Claude Chabrol, and Patrice Chéreau. The Collection's holdings are being restored for the theatrical and home markets.
