Church of Saint John the Baptist, Molenbeek


The Church of St. John the Baptist is a Roman Catholic church located in the centre of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium.
Designed by Joseph Diongre and built in 1931 in Art Deco style, it is one of three major churches in Brussels made of reinforced concrete. The church and the Catholic parish it belongs to gave their name to the municipality. The building received protected status on 29 February 1984.
The church is located on the northern side of the Parvis Saint Jean-Baptiste/Sint-Jan-Baptistvoorplein, not far from the Municipal Square. This site is served by Comte de Flandre/Graaf van Vlaanderen metro station on line 5 of the Brussels metro.
