Christopher Streng


Chris Streng is co-founder and director of streng, an award-winning design firm with locations in New York City and Chicago.

Career

In addition to co-founding his design firm, Streng also sits on the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Design Council. He currently splits his time between New York City and Chicago and is working on new furniture designs as well as reproductions of his award-winning pieces.

Awards and honors

Streng’s work has been exhibited in Japan, Seoul, Shanghai, London and Milan. Awards include IDEA, Good Design, Red Dot, SPARK, Smithsonian National Design Triennial, and the Ten Avant-Garde Team Award. Streng’s work has been published in Surface Magazine, Fast Company, Interni, Jane Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, Intramuros, Interior Design, Abitare, Time Out Chicago, Furniture Style, and Chicago Magazine, among others.

Early education

Streng studied industrial design at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, anthropology and human geography at Marquette University, and architecture and product design at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy.
