China Study Group


China Study Group is an inter-ministerial secretary-level classified organisation that is the sole advisor to the Government of India on China. Set up under the Indira Gandhi government in 1975, it was first headed by diplomat K.R. Narayanan, who would go on to become the tenth President of India. It has been under the charge of civil servants such as Brajesh Mishra and Ajit Doval.
