Chestnut-crowned gnateater
The chestnut-crowned gnateater is a species of bird in the family Conopophagidae.
It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Four subspecies are recognized:
The male is black with a chestnut crown. The female is different with her head being entirely chestnut except for a white eyestripe and her breast light grey. Both genders have brown backs.
