Cheshire County Council elections
was elected every four years. From 2009 the county council was abolished and replaced with two unitary authorities, Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester making the 2005 election the final election for Cheshire Council. Voting for the new unitary authorities took place on 1 May 2008.Political control
