Formation
is a
Permian
geologic unit
in
Guadalupe Mountains National Park
. The
formation
contains
fan sandstones
that were deposited under
ancient
seawater
during
the Middle
Permian. These
rocks
contain
abundant
fish
fossils like sharks'
teeth
preserved
within small
phosphatic nodules
.
