Carey, California

Carey is a former settlement in Mendocino County, California. It was located south of Covelo.
The Carey post office opened in 1891, changed its name to Jeram in 1896, and closed in 1897. The name Carey honored George R. Carey, its first postmaster. The name Jeram was for Father Jeram who established a Slovenian colony in Eden Valley.
