British Figure Skating Championships

The British Figure Skating Championships are a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of the United Kingdom. Figure skaters compete in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Not all disciplines have been held in every year due to a lack of participants.
The competition is typically held in November or December; thus, for example, the 1962 Championships were held in November 1961. The dance Championships have often been held as a separate event in a different location than the singles and pairs competitions.
The British Championships have been open to skaters from Commonwealth countries, and skaters from Canada and Australia, in particular, have entered in some years. Before the establishment of a ladies' category in 1927, female skaters would occasionally compete in the men's event.
